Part 1

What is "Pay it Forward"? 
"Pay it Forward" is doing an act of kindness towards an individual person or a group of people. The act of kindness that you choose to do, can either be big or simple. If the person/people would like to repay you for your act of kindness, you just simply tell them to "Pay it Forward" and hope that they will also do something nice to another person or a group of people.  

Part 2

What was your Pay it Forward act of kindness?

Angel, Kamille, Heather, and I, decided that we wanted to pay it forward together.

Our Pay it Forward act of kindness was visiting a senior home and sharing happiness with them.

Why did you choose this activity?
I chose to do this activity because it is that time of year where we share happiness with one another and spend time with our families, so we paid it forward by doing something simple to make their Christmas Eve a little more joyful!

Who did you help?
We helped out the seniors that lives in a senior home called Betelstadur.  

What did you do?
At Betelstadur, my friends and I served the seniors free coffee and food. The food we served was egg rolls, cupcakes, mini muffins, cookies, mandarins, chips, and quiche. Then we sang and played Christmas songs for them. My friends and I also gave the seniors Christmas cards.

When did you do your act of kindness? 
My friends and I did our act of kindness on Christmas Eve ( December 24, 2013) at Betelstadur, around 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go?  
Our act of kindness went well, and it was really successful because I think we've used our time wisely even though we've planned it on the same day we bought the supplies and ingredients.

What happened?

It took us three days to do our act of kindness. On the first day, my friends and I, along with my parents, and Heather's sister (Bethel) came with us to get the supplies and ingredients we needed for our act of kindness. We went to about 3 different stores. We bought ingredients for the food we made, Christmas cards for the senior, and Christmas hats for us to wear. On that same day we went back to my house and filled out the Christmas cards. On the second day around 10:00 a.m., we went to my grandparent's house and my mom and grandma taught us how to properly make egg rolls. Then on that same day, in the afternoon we went to Kamille's house to bake the cupcakes and practiced our speech and performance. Lastly, on the third day we did our actual act of kindness. We went to Betelstadur with my parents around 10:30 a.m. to cook the egg rolls and prepare the place for the seniors. When the seniors started coming, we served them coffee and food, gave them Christmas cards, chatted with them and we performed for them. Our act of kindness lasted till 3:00 p.m. After the seniors went back to their units, we helped cleaned up the place before we went home.

How did you feel?

I felt really happy doing our act of kindness, even though we were the ones giving. It was really heart warming seeing smiles on their faces.

How did the person or people react?  

The seniors were amazed of our act of kindness that kids our age can do something really nice for them. You can also tell that they were really thankful by hugging us.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay it Forward"?

We did ask the the seniors to pay it forward.

How did they react to your request?

The seniors didn't really react to to our request, but you could tell that they were thinking about it.

Part 4

Whys is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?

The idea of "Pay it Forward" is important because it motivates us to do something nice and simple for others to be happy and to be loved. It shows us that something so small can be a big difference to all. A small act of kindness creates a ripple effect that keeps getting bigger and bigger that becomes a big act of kindness. 

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

I think our act of kindness made a difference. Even if our act of kindness was small and simple, I think that it made the seniors' Christmas Eve more fun and joyful because they got to have like a mini Christmas party with their neighbours and just chat with one another and eat some food.
